This guide shows you how to automatically share AI-summarized articles from Journalist AI directly to your Google Business Profile (GBP) using Zapier and OpenAI. This integration helps keep your GBP active with fresh content.

• Zapier
• OpenAI Platform
• Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business)

Step-by-Step Integration

1. Connect Journalist AI with Zapier

Follow the Zapier integration guide to link your Journalist AI account. Once done, create a new integration (e.g., “GBP Integration”).

2. Create a New Zap on Zapier (Trigger)

   • App: Journalist AI
   • Event: New Article Published

3. Add OpenAI (ChatGPT) Step

• App: OpenAI (ChatGPT)
• Action: Summarize Text
• Connect OpenAI account:
• Go to OpenAI Platform:
  1. Navigate to API Keys
  2. Create a new secret key (name it e.g. GBP Journalist Integration)
  3. Paste the key into Zapier when prompted
• Set Up Input:
  • Text to summarize: Combine Article Title + Article Content
  • Model: Use GPT-4-0-mini
  • Leave other settings as default
  • Test the step to ensure the summary works

4. Post to Google Business Profile

   • App: Google Business Profile
   • Action: Create Post
   • Connect Google Account: Use the one managing your business listing
   • Choose Location: If you manage multiple, select the appropriate one
   • Configure the Post:
     • Summary: Use the summarized text from ChatGPT
     • Post Type: Standard
     • Button Text: Learn More
     • Button URL: Link to your article or main site
     • Photo URL: Use the Article Thumbnail
     • Test the step to verify the post gets created correctly

Final Result

Every time you publish a new article in Journalist AI (to your Zapier integration), it will be summarized by ChatGPT and automatically posted to your Google Business Profile with the image, summary, and a call-to-action.
